St Cathryn’s news

2015-06-10 06:00

ST Cathryn’s got its first share of the frosty cold weather on Saturday morning and it lay thick right up to the green water tanks on the estate, and was followed up again on Monday morning. So let’s say good bye to the green greens and the lush fairways, as these will turn a khaki brown over the next two weeks or so.

The next Farmers’ Agri-Care monthly mug will be played on Saturday 27 June. Over the same weekend the committee have decided to combine the mug with the match play finals, as many golfers had previous commitments. The match play finals will now be played over the same weekend as the Farmers Agri-Care mug.

Paul Els vs Brent Barkhuizen

Lawrence Savage vs Carl Groenewald

Niel Manser vs Fanie van Wyk

Dieter Meyer vs Apie Hughes.

Please confirm your availability to the above draw. Tee-off will be at 9am on Saturday 27 June and the finals will be on Sunday 28 June.

On Sunday 21 June, we travel to Mandeni for the second leg of the Triangular against Darnall and Mandeni. As we are the current holders of the trophy and for the cost of R150 we get to play another course. The entry fee includes golf, lunch and prizes. Anybody can play for St Cathryn’s and make up the team.

The KZNGU Interclub is to be played over the weekend of Friday 30 and Saturday 31 October and if we reach the finals again, then we play on Sunday 1 November.

Dieter Meyer is the convener of the team, so contact him as he is doing a lot of work organising accommodation, travelling and sponsorship.

This Friday 12 June we will be having devilled chicken, rice, vegetables and salad. Please book on 083 269 1661 by Thursday 11 June
