St Cathryn’s news

2015-08-26 06:01

DURING the past two weeks St Cathrynand#039;s held a and#034;silent auctionand#034; for two bottles of wine on behalf of Cansa, donated by Ernie Els Wines, in conjuction with the Sanlam Cansa Challenge. It was a silent auction and as the price got higher and higher the auction got quieter and quieter until completed.

The two bottles of Ernie Els wine, in a gift box, raised R2 100, a wonderful sum to go to a worthy cause. The wine was almost accidently consumed when someone asked for wine by the glass. The two buyers then split the bottles, with one bottle off to Dubai and the other going to a private cellar at St Cathrynand#039;s.

This weekend the golfing programme is the Farmers’ Agri-Care Monthly Mug and is open to golfers with an official handicap - enter as a family, or as a friendand#039;s challenge.

It is a good opportunity to play a practice round for the Hermannsburg Schooland#039;s annual fund-raiser on Friday 25 and Saturday 26 September, with a four-ball, better-ball format.

A new golfing item on our calendar is the first and#034;ladies invitational” to be played on Wednesday 9 September.

We invite all ladies to be part of this special day.

Supper this Friday is chicken breyani.
