A SPOKESMAN for the school said that management and parents were extremely concerned that a man who has vandalised the school over 15 times, stolen 21 classroom doors, Grade R blankets, cultural attire, feeding buckets, feeding-scheme nutrition, brooms and had broken several classroom cupboards, had been handed a suspended sentence by the courts.

Just before the reopening for the third term the man was again found trespassing in one of the classrooms. and stealing – he had broken open a teacher’s cupboard and stolen various items.

He was arrested again and appeared in court again and was released without bail.

Last Thursday the Department of Correctional Services from New Hanover came to Tholinhlanhla Primary School and gave a criminal awareness talk.

The guys who are serving their sentences advised Grade 6 and Grade 7 pupils, telling them that life is not good inside jail.

They also performed a drama that showed how hard when it is in jail.

Last Friday the school gospel group competed at provincial level in Newcastle and did extremely well showing the crowd how talented they are.
