BROWN sugar gets hard and lumpy. If you need to soften it simply break off as much as you need, wrap in tin foil, bake at 150°C for five minutes and it will be as grainy as dry sand.

Pot scrubbing. Perhaps you have lost or worn out your pot scrubber. A scrunched up piece of tin foil will do the trick just as well.

Cleaning silver. The ion chemical exchange where aluminium acts as a catalyst will polish your dreary silverware.

Just line a pan with foil and fill it with two tablespoons of salt and pop in your tarnished silverware. Leave for about five minutes, take out and rub dry.

Get build-up off your iron. Iron a piece of heavy duty foil for a minute and you will find the caking comes off.

Easy fire grate cleaning. Winter is on the way.

A double layer of heavy duty tin foil placed strategically on the ground of the fireplace, under the grate, will collect the ash and you can toss it out next day and use it again. It also helps create greater heat too.
