"WALTER will be remembered by his family and community for his kindness and loving nature.

Forty two years of his life were spent in Kranskop, farming with sugar cane, timber, maize and kiwi fruit.

His natural affinity towards engineering led him to design and build practical and innovative agricultural machinery, of which some are still in use today and moving to Greytown did not dampen his farming spirit.

His fellow brothers in the farming community could call on him for advice and encouragement at any time. Walter and Verona's passion for agriculture remains evident in the beautiful garden, “their little farm”, they created together.

Walter was a humble man, serving the community with Christian principals. His love for God moved him to reach out to his fellow man, encouraging and confirming that faith, love and compassion can change people's lives. He was always overwhelmed by the grace of God, encouraging everybody he met to join him on this journey of faith.

Thank you for being with us, for the prayers, incredible love, encouragement and support with which you have surrounded us. We have been blessed to have Walter in our lives and will always cherish him as husband, father, Oupa and friend.

"Yet I am always with you - you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel and afterwards you will take me into glory."

Walter Redinger was a gentleman much respected by all members of the communities with whom he had been involved actively and positively throughout the years. He was always willing to commit his time and advice on matters affecting the farming and Greytown community. The large turn-out of family and friends at the service held at the Greytown Lutheran Church last Saturday was a true indication of the high esteem in which he was held.
