Window on Wembley

2015-04-29 14:17

ON Monday 20 April, the 007-themed evening kicked our week off with a bang. A special word of thanks to our sponsors, the staff and pupils who were involved in making this evening a success. We really appreciated all the support shown by parents. I am sure we agree that the stars of the show were the extremely elegant young ladies and dashing gentlemen who entertained us on the evening.

After offloading our luggage at Glenrock last Thursday morning we went to Oaksprings, a bottling plant where milk is sterilised to make yoghurt and cheese and other dairy products. Juices are also packaged for catering companies, airlines and hospitals.

Thereafter, we went back to Glenrock where, in between a variety of games and ice-breakers, the children had the opportunity to do fuffi-sliding, target shooting and tree climbing.

We had a full, but enjoyable programme and the pupils didn’t even seem to notice the cold spell that hit our area last week.

On Saturday 18 April, Wembley hosted an U13 girls’ hockey festival.

The festival was well supported with nine teams entered in total. The U13 girls played well and it was a great way for them to start the hockey season. It is fantastic to see so many schools supporting the festivals. According to our entries, over the next two terms Wembley will host over 800 children at the various festivals the school is hosting.
