ON Friday our pupils were treated to an energetic theatre production of new books available from Hooked on Books. Our horizons were expanded as we witnessed books coming alive before our eyes. Thank you to our pupils for their good behaviour and for welcoming St David’s to our school.

Thank you to all our SP parents and families who hosted Felixton pupils and who supported Wembley over the Clash of the Leopards weekend. We were also very proud of the various R20 entrepreneurs who took this opportunity to exhibit their products and make money.

We wrapped up our book week with an exciting performance from Hooked on Books on Friday 29 May. The children enjoyed the live entertainment and talented acting performance.

Later in the day the Grade 3 pupils went down to read their books to their Grade R friends. These books had been written and illustrated earlier in the week. It was a special time to get to know one another over a book. Curtain falls on another successful book week.

Wembley hosted the annual Clash of the Leopards fixture against Felixton College on Friday 29 and Saturday 30 May. It was fantastic to have the sports fields full of activity and to see so many parents supporting their children.

On the sporting front - the majority of our teams were out-played by stronger Felixton sides however, our pupils held their own and played every match with heart and determination. The sports department congratulates every pupil who took part in the Clash of the Leopards last weekend. You all gave your best, and we are extremely proud of you.

On Saturday 30 May Wembley hosted a Plennegy eight-a-side hockey tournament. Seven teams making up 80 players in total participated in the tournament. It was a fantastic afternoon of hockey at the Hannah Pride astro. Thank you to Plennegy for their constant support of the school.

Wembley is hosting another such tournament on Saturday 20 June. If anyone is interested in entering a team into this tournament please e-mail sport2@wembleycollege. to request an entry form. Closing date for entries is 12 June
