On Saturday, June 9 the Amathole Football Club from Enhlalakahle travelled to Pinetown Primary School for a soccer training clinic run by Mamelodi Sundowns assistant coach Manqobi Mnqithi.

This excursion was organised by their coach Sihle Sithole who accompanied the team to Pinetown.

When Sithole heard that a coach of this calibre was offering a training clinic in KwaZulu-Natal he felt that it would be a valuable, enriching experience for his young team to attend.

At the training clinic the boys were put through their paces, learned a lot about the game and coached how to improve their skills.

Apart from the physical and tactical skills he taught the team, Mnqithi also shared the inspiring story of how soccer changed his life for the better and enabled him to be the success he is today.

His motivational message on the positive effect of fitness and leading a healthy life made a lasting impression on the boys.

The Amathole team from Greytown played well and their skills drew very positive comments from Mnqithi.

He commented on the talent and enthusiasm that he did not expect from a team from a small town. These encouraging comments have inspired the boys to train hard at applying their newly learned skills to ensure a bright future for Greytown soccer.
