Another armed robber shot

2015-12-09 06:00

YET another one of the gang of armed robbers involved in the shoot-out at Seven Oaks three weeks ago was shot dead in a confrontation with police in KwaMashu over the weekend. His alleged accomplice was arrested.

Late last Saturday afternoon police received information about suspects in possession of unlicensed firearms at the KwaMashu men’s hostel. Police spokesman Major Thulani Zwane said the officers called for back-up from Durban Flying Squad, K9 unit and Inanda police task team and the operation was launched. It is reported that one of the suspects allegedly fired at the police, who retaliated and he was killed. A pistol was found in his possession and his accomplice was found in a possession of a pistol with ammunition.

Both are suspected to be linked to the killing of police in KwaMashu as well as escaping from the Seven Oaks shoot-out last month.
