WITH loads of mud and even more fun to be had, the 2018 aQuellé Hermannsburg Mudman lived up to its name. The athletes appreciated the cool weather, and young and old joined in with gusto.

The corporate challenge and the schools’ challenge were fiercely contested. Our thanks go to all the companies and schools that support our Mudman, especially Hoërskool Voortrekker and Greytown High School, as well as to all the families and individuals who participated in this year’s Mudman.

Half-distance swim: U14 team, Eshowe Warriors; Open team, Voortrekker High School 1; U11, Lieve Rennings and Rhys Barry; U13, Brigitte von Bruddebock and Pepyn Rennings; U16, Taylor Munro and Daniel van der Walt; Open, Courtney Munro and Jeramie Higgins; 40+, Elke Powell and Clayton Steytler. Full distance swim: Open Team, Three Little Pigs; U18, Gabby Carter and Angus McLeod; Open, Jeannie Bomford-Dryer (overall winner) and Darryn Purtell (overall winner); 40+, Sue Don-Wauchope and Craig Russell-White. Half-distance paddle: U11, Abbey Hackland and Cole Joshua Berriman; U13, Rourke Paul Berriman; U16, Hannah Bruni and Abbi Larson (tie); Open, Pippa Weber; 40+, Emilio Chiccaro. Full distance paddle: Open, Team VC Green; U18, Mireia Bruni and Timothy Larsen; Open, Neil du Plessis. The Bracken Bandits won the corporate challenge, and Hoërskool Voortrekker won the schools’ challenge.
