UMVOTIi Disaster Management, Fire and Rescue conduct regular awareness campaigns in schools and communities in the form of group and door-to-door campaigns.

In July five door-to-door campaigns were carried out as follows:

• Holmesdale with 23 households - 192 people.

• Townland swith 28 households - 263 people.

• Tintown with 51 people present.

• Lindelani with 30 people present.

• Woolstone with 20 households - 143 people.

During these campaigns, communities were informed of fire prevention, disaster risks, and illegal electricity connections which endanger their lives.

They were also requested to look after their water tanks and use water sparingly due to the drought.
