2016-01-27 06:00

TWO brothers, Thamsanqa and Siphesihle Mbatha, were sentenced to life by acting Regional Magistrate, Greytown, Mr C.F. Masikane last week for the brutal killing of 32-year-old Menzi Wiseman Mbatha in Msinga on 31 March, 2015.

Evidently, the decease, who was with his girlfriend, had a problem with his vehicle, which broke down close to the area in which the two accused lived.

Thamsanqa had previously been in a relationship with Menzi’s girlfriend and they had a child together.

On 31 March upon receiving information that Menzi’s vehicle had broken down close to them, the two brothers armed themselves with knobkieries and went to the scene where they brutally attacked Menzi.

They caused multiple fractures to his skull, broke both his legs, caused lacerations all over his body then left him to die.

The girlfriend managed to alert the police.

After questioning the accused they were led to an area where the police found Menzi unconscious.

Paramedics were called to the scene, but were unable to save him.
