IT was an exciting morning when Mr Mdladla conducted an assembly by preaching to the pupils. He read Proverbs 1-10 “My son, if sinners entice you, do not consent.”

He used a sterile cockpit rule as his theme.

He reminded pupils that they can’t do as they please at school because their journey is like that of a pilot and, as it is the middle of the year, it simply means they are flying at ten thousand kilometres above sea level, so anything can happen if they are not focused, just as the pilot is more careful with the instructions given to him at this level because failing to do so might result in crushing the plane.

The lesson in his story was that good pupils resist the temptations of sin. Great pupils resist the effort of others to get them to sin. No matter how advantageous and desirable an evil person or thing might be, they will not give in. They will hold to righteousness and truth regardless of consequences.

He emphasised that some pupils are not content sinning and going to hell by themselves, they want others in their wickedness. Bringing the innocent into their sinful activities and friendship helps justify their evil lives, and destroy God’s children. — Supplied.
