A TOTAL of 19 computers and three laptops were stolen from Msinga Library after unknown suspects broke into the facility on March 2. The armed men initially tied two security guards with electric cables before proceeding into the library.

Director of Community Services in Msinga Matheli Xulu said the library was closed for a few days after the incident while the police were busy with the investigation. “We suspect that they only wanted to take the laptops and computers.

A television that was at the library was not taken. The suspects removed the burglar guard and gained entry at our library.

Msinga Municipality is trying to replace the computers that were stolen. However, everything is back to normal at the library,” she said.

Police spokesperson Colonel Thembeka Mbhele said: “A case of burglary was opened on March 3 at Msinga Police Station after a library was broken into and laptops were stolen by unknown suspects.”
