THE 2012 Crusaders is playing under the SAFA uMzinyathi SAB U21 regional league.

The Crusaders defeated Nseleni United 3-0 on April 7.

The team now qualify to play in the play-offs that will be held at Umvoti King Edward Park, date to be confirmed, where they will play against teams that come from Endumeni, Nquthu, and uMsinga.

Director of the team Mrs BV Dlamini in an interview said: “I notice that there is a high rate of young boys that are using drugs and alcohol. As a local citizen I took the initiative to keep these children busy.

“Since I took over these boys, [they have] responded well, last season they finished the league under Umvoti Stream unbeaten.

“They also surprised me in this season when they qualified with two games to go. They played 24 games, won 21 and drew three games.

“The youngest player in the team, Lungisa Xulu, is 15 years old.”

Another team that finished number two on the log was Amatimatolo Junior Stars that won the second last game by four goals to one against Umbuba United.
