eNhlakahle protest action

2018-10-24 06:02

UMVOTI speaker, councillor W. Khoza, received a memorandum of grievances from disgruntled residents from eNhlalakahle township on Monday, according to the following press release issued by the municipality:

“Leading up to the handover of the grievances, these residents had marched peacefully to the municipal offices on Bell Road. Contrary to reports that there the town came to a standstill, quite the opposite happened as the both the march and the handover were peaceful, with the handover at the municipal offices barely lasting five minutes.

“Although the memorandum is filled with allegations rather than facts, the municipality has vowed to respond to the memorandum within seven working days and a resolution that will be favourable to all parties will be reached in the near future.”
