WITH the festive season rapidly approaching, much planning and preparation goes into this time when many families and friends gather together to celebrate Christmas. Festive Flair is the theme of the next Greytown Garden Club meeting, taking place from 9 am on Tuesday, November 13 at Fiddlewood, the unique home and spectacular garden of Mike and Trish Barrow. Two Greytown gurus of creativity will be pooling their extensive creative talents to entertain Garden Club members and guests to a morning of tantalised taste buds and visual vibrancy. In many homes, guests are welcomed by a beautiful traditional Christmas wreath hung at the entrance. Following this theme, Karien Crowe will be sharing her exuberant creativity to demonstrate a variety of ideas that can be used to make both traditional and contemporary-styled wreaths with which to decorate the home. Renowned for her gracious hospitality and adventurous culinary talents, Trish Barrow will be expanding on the Christmas wreath theme by demonstrating a variety of fuss-free, prepare ahead desserts using the circular wreath shape. After Crowe and Barrow have shared their inspiring ideas, a celebratory tea with festive eats, laughter, and friendship can be enjoyed by all. While the intention is to hold this meeting in the beautifully landscaped indigenous garden of Fiddlewood, should the weatherman decide to bless the district with much needed rain on the day of the meeting, please be advised that the venue will move to the Greytown Country Club (in the event of inclement weather). Visitors and newcomers are most welcome to attend, so why not save the date and come and enjoy some festive flair with the Greytown Garden Club. Please remember to bring chairs and wear comfortable walking shoes. Contact Jen Cowie at 082 921 2134 should you have any enquiries.
