MEMBERS of the Ladies House Wealth Foundation visited rural women in Msinga recently to get first-hand experience of the challenges that they are facing daily.The visit was part of the outreach programmes of the foundation aimed at empowering women in South Africa.Chairperson of the foundation Nothile Ntuli said: “We visited emerging farmers in the area to hear their challenges they are faced with as women. We were impressed to see women working hard to feed their families. Our main aim was to take their complaints and see where we could assist them. We encouraged them to commercialise their business and start selling their agricultural products to the community.”The members of the foundation pledged to support the female emerging farmers in their activities. “We also visited schools around the Msinga area to donate shoes and sanitary pads to the girls,” Ntuli said. The schools that benefited from the programme were Isesibumba Primary and Cabangokuhle High schools. “Pupils were ecstatic to receive the gifts from the members of the Ladies House Wealth Foundation. Zama Zincume is the chairperson of the foundation in the area. I am the chairperson for Greytown, Msinga, Kranskop and Muden areas,” Ntuli said.
