THE annual tennis championships sponsored by RTS and Organics for Africa are about half way through, with a number of interesting matches having been played.

Last Saturday’s results saw the upset of number three seed Ashley Cotterrell by Dieter Meyer, after winning the first set 6-1. The final result was 1-6, 6-4, 6-3 to Dieter. Colin Corbishley, the number one seed, beat Mike Barrow 6-2, 6-3. In the handicap tournament, Herman van Rooyen and Mark Thomas beat Clive Edkins and Jack Drew 7-5. Rolf and Erika Gevers beat James de Nysschen and Ingrid Surendorff 7-4, and Qaphela Mzila beat Ian Redfern 7-2. Will all players please check on the play lists before leaving in case other matches can be played. There will be social tennis for those members not playing matches.
