From the courts

GREYTOWN Tennis Club held it’s annual general meeting last Friday, October 12.

The meeting was a full scale affair with the club championship winners awarded their trophies, new portfolio champions elected, as well as a change in club leadership.

After the meeting, members tucked into a delicious dinner made even more enjoyable by hearing the rain fall.

We look forward to a rally of new ideas from Colin Corbishley, the new chairman, and his committee.

Thanks to those who have agreed to help lead the club forward — Corne’Nefdt, Ingrid Surendorff, Jack Ridl, Mark Thomas, Peter Hardy, Sylvia Varty, and Tish Van Rooyen.

A big thanks go to Ian Hill and his team who have ably lead the club for the past three years — courts are newly resurfaced and membership has increased.

The tennis club is an active club committed to providing the opportunity for fun sport. We regularly host tournaments — four-a-side, Farmers vs Town, Roley Hill Men’s, Pannar Mixed, and RTS Organics for Africa Champs and Handicaps.

Tennis is always held on a Saturday afternoon from 2 pm at the courts in King Edward park, weather permitting. Visitors are welcome. Why not come and enjoy an afternoon outdoors?
