FLOODLIGHT bowls has proved to be more popular than we envisaged with full action well after the games are over – thanks to the support of competitors who shall enjoy a fair degree of discreet anonymity.

Leaders of the section are the Bracken Bowldozers on five points while the all ladies team of GPS, Ruth Drew, Ingrid Surendorff and Wendy Edkins are holding in with six points in Section B.

Looming is Linkseed fun day
on Wednesday 27 April, which promises to be crowded.
Entry is R60 for bowlers, which includes teas and lunch, while visitors can book for lunch at R40 each.

Erika Fischer represented Natal Inland in the perfect delivery SA interdistricts championships hosted by Ekurhelni district. There were 10 teams playing and Erika’s team came fifth - she said she gained a lot of experience.
“It was hard work and hard bowls as we played against the best.”

At the event Erika met one of the top SA lady bowlers – ex-Greytonian Susan Nel, who plays for Sables, Susan (sister of Schalk Jacobz), who went to school in Greytown and then Hermannsburg.

Tony Smith, playing for Natal Inland B section in Port Elizabth was placed 10th.
