THEY came from all over, a record 42 players filled both greens for Jack Mason’s Christmas fun day.

Very enjoyable and fun bowls were played with some first time ever, including 10 and 12 year olds displaying impressive skills and it was encouraging seeing the youngsters turn out.

Well known bowler Elna Frase, from Pietermaritzburg has offered to come to Greytown to coach pupils on a Saturday, Sunday and any weekday excluding Thursday. Please contact Bryan Paul on 033 413 2157 or Erika Fischer on 084 507 3445 to set a date.

Thank you to Jack, Murray, Andrew and Juanita Mason for a fantastic day, and Jack Drew, Gerhard Balzer, Chris and Erika Fischer, Schalk Jacobz and Karen Cordy for all their help and the ladies for the teas.

The Spider raised R400 and was won by George Johnson and the lucky draw, which was won by Clifford Loock, raised R533.

At the end of the day winners of the first section were Wolfie Lubowitski, Laurie Forster and Dulcie Jacobz. Second-session winners were Sannie Balzer, Murray Mason and Juanita Mason and the overall winners were Jack Drew, Mike Barrow, and Mirelle van Heemert.
