From the ditch

THERE was a great turnout for the fund-raiser dance on Saturday night to assist with the sponsoring of the four Greytown bowlers playing in Niba competitions.

This Saturday, Chris and Erika Fischer, and Tony Smith and Andre Roberts, take part in the Niba fours, and on Sunday, Sannie Balzer and Erika Fischer, Chris Fisher and Wolfie Lubowitski, take part in the pairs.

Dancers and non-dancers alike enjoyed the toe-tapping music on Saturday night supplied by Jan Swart. The tasty chicken for dinner was braaied and basted to perfection by Tony Smith and Andre Roberts, and the bar was under the control of Schalk Jacobz, Omo Dinkelman and Karen Cordy.

A huge thank you to Erika Fischer for all the hard work which resulted in such a successful evening.

Meanwhile, the teams are lining up for our floodlight business league, which starts on March 8. Dates are March 15 and 22, and April 5, 12 and 19.

Please contact Gerhard Balzer at 082 379 9575 for more information.
