GREYTOWN Bowls Club celebrates its 100th birthday this Saturday with a fun day in fancy dress.

Come along and enjoy two games of 12 ends, divided by tea and finished off with lunch and rededications.

Entry for the day, which will start at 9 am, is R100 per person for everything (except drinks). On the playing side, Greytown bowlers took part in two tournaments and the competition was of a very high standard.

Teams were made up of 160 ladies in the A side and 160 ladies in the B side, as well as the men. The format was 4s.

Tony Smith and Omo Dinkelman played in Johannesburg and both played well in their teams, coming eighth overall.

Erika Fischer and her team came sixth.

Mention must be made of the fact that two of the teams they played against had Protea players, two of whom, Annette Snyman and Esme Haley, will be playing in the Commonwealth Games in Australia.

Next week sees the start of the Niba mixed pairs and the following will be representing Greytown: Tony Smith and Omo Dinkelman, Chris and Erika Fischer, and Sannie Balzer and Andre Roberts.
