JACKS fun day was a cracker. Despite the wet, drizzly start to the day, a full field took to the greens,All six rinks were full, almost overflowing, and some good bowls was played. The rain stayed away long enough to have two games, two cross-green challenges and a “spider”, where everybody plays at the same time, for the Jack in the middle. Corner to corner is longer, and the winner was James De Nysschen in the men’s, while Eve Drury won the ladies section. The first session was won by Lyle Du Plessis, Natalie Hechter, and Duane Corbishley. The second session was won by Jack Drew, Paul Du Preez, and Heinz Oellerman.Overall winners were Tony Smith, James De Nysschen, and Ingrid Surendorff. The lucky draw board was won by Meghan Mason and the Chivas run went to Wolfie Lubowiski.Despite the bar being well stocked, we ran dry of three popular drinks that needed to fill up. For all of this, a very big thanks to Jack Mason, who not only sponsored the day, the prizes, and cooked all the lunches, but also sang us a merry jingle which shall forever remain an enjoyable mystery. Thank you to Jack for a memorable day.
