From the ditch

WE are half-way through the Business League. After three weeks, the leader has emerged — the team TEN-10 has scored a huge 15 points. It remains to be seen if they keep it up in the fourth week.

On Saturday, June 15 Jacques Minnaar and Erika Fischer played in the NIBA Champion of Champions in Pietermaritzburg.

Minnaar’s opponent was from Umgeni Waterfall. It was an excellent drawing game. They played 25 ends, neck-and-neck all the way, but, unfortunately, Minnaar lost after a gruelling game. Fischer lost against her opponent from Maritzburg West. She found it to be very challenging to take part in competitive high standard bowls after a long break — she won this competition in 2016.
