2018-02-07 06:00

IN retribution for the mean minded irresponsible thieves who stole the two remaining Jojo tanks from Greytown on Thursday night. These tanks, in McCullum and Scott Street have supplied a much needed water lifeline for a number of families- with containers been pushed in a wheelbarrow to get filled. Greytown is now in its third year of drought. It doesn’t seem to concern either the Umvoti Municipality.Water service provider, Umzinyathi District Municipaity seems to be dragging its web feet even though it has a Court interdict to prevent the Craigieburn residents from protesting actively. But the story remains the same, Greytonians have coped with strict water restrictions of over two years. It’s way past time that the powers that be got motivated to get taps flowing 24/7 again. STOP PRESS: Bulk water tankers were recovered, in the past week, six stolen Jojo tanks.
