THE Greytown Feeding Project, which for the past 15 years, has provided hot nourishing meals to thousands of needy locals, recently had two special events.
On June 9, the first anniversary of opening the doors of the GFP’s own venue, was celebrated and then Mandela Day on July 18.

On both these days, not only did those present fend off the winter chills with a tasty hot meal, but also received food parcels.

Chairman D.R. Aheer said that the provision of this voluntary service twice a week to those in need was only made possible by the generosity of businesses, professional institutions and individuals. During the year a range of vegetables had been donated by Starke Ayres and distributed.

Greytown should be proud of this wonderful service being provided on a voluntary basis, which has provided, in many instances, twice a week, the only hot and nutritious meals enjoyed by thousands over the past 15 years.

GPF commemorates the spirit of Nelson Mandela not just on Madiba Day, but throughout the year.

For more information phone Mr Aheer on 082 778 0282 and attend the GFP annual general meeting on August 12 at 2.30pm at its hall, 68 Voortrekker Street.
