Giving time for Buhle Mvoti School

2017-11-08 06:00

FOR the past seven years they have operated quietly and efficiently giving hope and positivity to 22 children with special needs at Buhle Mvoti School. It has not been easy for the two dedicated and committed teachers - Ms S. Shezi and Ms L.V. Mthembu, who have ,with pupils, moved premises three times in the seven years.

The two, who are passionate about teaching the children to read, write, count, etc., work on a voluntary basis. They are now in a room at the Umvoti Aids Centre - even though it would mean another move the school would benefit from larger premises.

As it is coming up for Christmas this is an appeal to the generous community of Umvoti to give towards gifts for these special teachers and children. The boys would love balls to play with, the girls would love toiletries and food hampers for the two voluntary teachers would really make it a special Christmas as would food parcels for the children.

To donate, contact Lee-Megan Larkan on 072 491 2712 or Lynn Haden on 082 571 5034, or goods can also be left at the Greytown Gazette office.
