IT was a very happy occasion when the eNhanhleni Crèche in the Mhlazane community celebrated its end-of-year function last week.

Principal Thembeni Hadebe and her team had gone to a great deal of trouble to ensure that the children and their guests were welcomed with generous and warm hospitality.

A very interesting programme awaited the guests; speeches and thanks from various bodies who support the créche were interspersed with beautiful singing, dancing, and recitals delivered by the enthusiastic graduates, all to a very appreciative audience.

The chairman of the crèche’s committee thanked the staff of the crèche, the parents of the children and the Hermannsburg School and Lutheran Peter Paul congregation for continued support and goodwill.

A delicious meal was served to all the guests, and a happy time of fellowship and laughter ended the successful event.

The crèche has recently had a facelift and the trees which were planted a few years ago are already providing much-needed shade for the children.
