THE first Mascor Golf Business League match of 2019 was played on Saturday, March 2 with six teams having entered. The teams that are the defending champions are Kombat, Mascor, CPS, Bracken, Gtn Development, Gtn Umvoti, and Rhino Charcoal.

This league is contested over four Saturdays during the year and consists of teams of three players representing businesses from the Umvoti district. The Mascor Business League floating trophy is at stake.

The Mascor Monthly Mug for March was also played at the same time.

Our golf course has benefited greatly from the recent good rain and greens keeper Wally­ and team has made the most of it.

First in A Division and the winner of the Mug was Humphrey Msomi with 69 net. Second was Marthinus Steyn with 71net. In B-div, first was Patrick O’Sullivan 72 net and second was Steve van der Merwe 73 net. The winning team on the day was Bracken (104 pts), second was Greytown Umvoti (100 pts) and third Gtn Development (98). We thank Bracken for sponsoring the team prizes and Mascor Greytown for the individual prizes.

Next up is the Arcadia Golf Weekend, an exciting weekend of golf played at St Cathryn’s and Greytown, which will take place on March 9 and March 10. The proceeds of this competition will go to Arcadia Home for the Aged. We urge our golfers to support this worthy cause. To enter, please contact Dieter Meyer at 082 877 9576.

Thanks to all members for supporting the Happy Hour — Cheryl McGhie walked away with the R1 000 prize! This Friday the members attendance draw is R300!
