ON Sunday 31 January, the 26th edition of the annual Jen's Jug was held. Fifty players braved the heat to play in a most enjoyable day. Of those golfers, seven were Masons.

A delicious lunch was prepared by Jack and his helpers. A great big thank you to Jack Mason and Holme Lacey for their generous sponsorship and to Di Mason for all her hard work in putting this day together.

First: Flip and Ronel Botha on 46 points

Second: Murray and Juanita Mason on 43 points

Third: Wendy Slabbert and Dieter Meyer on a count-out on 40 points.

A good field of 23 players played in the Mascor Monthly Mug on Saturday 6 February. It was a pleasure to have seven of our friends from St Cathryn's play in our Mug. They were a high-powered delegation with the club captain and the chairman leading from the front.
We thank them for their support and we will co-ordinate a reciprocal visit - may this be the beginning of a new tradition.

The winner of the Mug and A division was Oscar Ndawonde with a wonderful 66 gross and nett. Oscar is a scratch handicap and our congratulations to him on a splendid round of golf. Clearly the quickening up of our greens is suiting him.

On that note our gratitude goes to Wally Kohne who is doing a sterling job despite the drought.

Second in A division was Thokozane Chonco on 71 net. B division - first was Bigboy Ngonyama on 69 net on a count-out from Flip Botha. The winning visitor was Zane Padoa from St Cathryns's on 69 net oco.

Bhoyi Zuma walked away with the cash from Friday night's attendance draw. The next attendance draw will be on Friday with R100 up for grabs. Be here from 6.30pm and you could be the lucky winner.

Valentine's dinner and dance will be on Saturday 13 February. R150 per person, tickets available at the bar.

The "9@9" entry fee is R50 and to play 18 holes is R80. Richard Chiazzari sponsoring a chicken for the "9@9" that will be up for the winning on Sunday mornings. Last winner was Johan Labuschagne with 21 points.
