Greytown Country Club news

2016-04-20 06:00

THE Greytown Country Club AGM has been postponed to Wednesday 20 April at 6pm in Pannar Lounge due to the fact that we did not have a quorum present. We appeal to all members to make a special effort to attend this meeting. The club will be closed for the duration of the meeting.

Elsie Fourie lost out on the money as she was not present at the time of the draw. The next attendance draw will be on Friday (22 April) with R400 up for grabs. Be there at 6.30pm and you could be the lucky winner.

We golfers are fortunate that KZN golf clubs are expected to hold their annual championships during April every year, due to autumn in the KZN Midlands being a wonderful time to be out on the golf course. All the marvellous autumn sights, sounds and smells remind us that we are truly blessed.
The annual FNB Greytown Country Club golf championship was held on 16 and 17 April under the guidance of new men’s captain, Tienie Muller, assisted by club manager Elmarie Dede.
After two sunny days of golf Bheki Mlangeni successfully defended his crown with a score of 148 gross. Second was Boy Zuma on 154 gross.
Rest of the results: B division: Goodboy Ngubane, C division: Berndt Elges, Best net overall: Goodboy Ngubane, seniors: Tienie Muller. Stableford winner on day one was Goodboy Ngubane and day two was Tienie Muller. Our thanks to our sponsor, FNB Greytown, and our greenskeeper Wally Kohne, who presented a very enjoyable golf course, despite a serious lack of water.
Our ladies’ championship will be held at a later date.
