Greytown Country Club news

2017-03-22 06:02

IT was with shock and sadness that the golfing fraternity of Greytown learnt of the death of Dr Mike Caldicott last week.

Mike had been a popular golf and squash member of Greytown Country Club for many years and he will be sorely missed by all of us. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family in this most difficult of times.

The annual FNB Greytown Country Club golf championship was held on 18 and 19 March. Bheki Mlangeni successfully defended his crown yet again with a score of 152 gross, just pipping Oscar Ndawonde in a tense tussle by one stroke.

Results: B division: Russel Anderson; C division: Tienie Muller; Best net overall: Tienie Muller (135 nett). Seniors: Tienie Muller. Sincere gratitude to our sponsor, FNB, and greenskeeper Wally Kohne, who presented a very enjoyable and neat golf course, despite a serious lack of water.

Members, take note that the club AGM will be on Wednesday 22 March at 6pm.

The bar will be closed for the duration of the meeting.
