THE Mascor Monthly Mug was played on Saturday, July 15, in very windy conditions. Our greens and tee boxes are taking a hammering due to the bore-hole having dried up.

Somebody suggested that  local farmer club members volunteer to “adopt a green and/or tee box” and apply one bakkie sakkie of water once a week until it rains. This sounded like a good idea to all of us, especially to green keeper Wally!

First in A division was Peter Hardy on 71 net, second   M. Msomi on 72 net.

B division: first was Tubby Larkan on 68 net, and second was Marius Muller on 69.The Mug winner was Tubby Larkan. Due to a misunderstanding it was reported previously that Alice Steyn won the June Monthly Mug. In fact, it was won by Andre Scheepers and we apologise to him for that error.

We would like to remind all golfers that the popular Plennegy Golf Day is taking place on Saturday, July 29. The entry list is on the board at the club, or you can phone the club to enter with a partner. If you cannot find a partner, we will do our best to match you up with one.

Bernd Elges walked away with the cash from the draw on Friday. The next attendance draw will be on July 21, with R100 up for grabs. Be here from 6.30 pm and you could be the lucky winner.

Dates to diarise:

Saturday, July 29 — Plennegy golf day.
