Greytown Country Club news

THE first Mascor Golf Business League match of 2018 was played on Saturday, March 3, with six teams: Mascor, CPS, Bracken, Greytown Development, Greytown Umvoti and Kombat.

This league is contested over four Saturdays during the year and consists of teams of three players representing businesses from the Umvoti District, with two development sides also participating.

The Mascor Business League floating trophy is at stake, as well as bragging rights for next year.

The Mascor Monthly Mug for March was played at the same time and the Protea’s batsmen would have been very happy with some of the scores. When B div and Mug winner Steve van der Merwe was asked for comment after shooting 63 net, he replied drily: “Practice makes perfect.”

Second in B div was Tienie Muller on the same score. A-div: 1st S. Mchunu 68 net. 2nd S. Dlamini 72 net. The winning team on the day was Bracken (112 pts), second Kombat (107) and third Gtn Umvoti (107). We thank Bracken for sponsoring the team prizes and Mascor Greytown for the individual prizes. Next up is the Arcadia Golf Weekend; an exciting weekend of golf played at St Cathryns and Greytown, which takes place on March 17th and 18. The proceeds of this competition go to Arcadia Home and we urge our golfers to support this worthy cause. The 9@9 on Sunday was won by Pete Koller.

DATES TO DIARISE:

Arcadia Golf Weekend: March 17 and 18.

Mascor Monthly Mug: April 7.
