AS Christmas approaches Greytown Feeding and Distribution Centre is winding down it feeding programme for 2017.

This year, reports chairman Mr D.R. Aheer, has seen an increase in the demand for support with several hundred pensioners, unemployed and children receiving two hot meals a week.

What is of great concern is the ongoing increase in the level of unemployed in the area as well as young females with children to care for.

The feeding centre is faced with these challenges and greatly appreciates and thanks the businesses, religious and educational institutions, families, individuals and the community for their tremendous support throughout the year.

The Greytown Feeding Project appeals to all businesses and the Greytown community to continue contributing so positively to the work that is being done and be part of the solution to the many socioeconomic problems faced by so many in the town.

At the centre Mrs Shamitha Choonilal, Mrs Gloria Hamraj, Mrs Feroza Patel, Mr and Mrs Ramkisson, Mrs Lalitha Kinoo, Mrs Ishara Maharaj and Mrs Sharda Maharaj have volunteered to give of their time to prepare and serve the meals.

The supervision and controls are monitored by Mr D.R. Aheer, Mr G. Moodley, Mr N.M. Bhagarette and Mr Gabriel Gcbash.

For further information on the project, donations and sponsorship, contact Mr Aheer on 082 778 0282.

The Greytown Feeding Project and Distribution Centre wishes the community a safe and enjoyable festive season.
