Greytown Garden Club in March

2017-02-22 06:01

WHILE the bright colours of flowers, grandeur of stately trees and structure of hard landscaping elements create the overall impression of a garden, a great deal of the life and success of a garden happens quietly unnoticed. Our gardens are a haven for a wide variety of life forms that all contribute to the vibrant vitality of this man-made ecosystem. "Appreciating Your Living Garden" is the topic of the talk for the first quarterly Umvoti Garden Club meeting of 2017.

The meeting will be held on Tuesday March 7 at the home of Kate and Bernd Elges, 240 Durban Street (behind the grey wall). As is customary, the annual general meeting also takes place at the first meeting of the year. Registration will take place from 9am and the AGM will begin promptly at 9.30am. After the talk by local gardening and nature enthusiast Jen Cowie, tea will be served. While enjoying tea, members and visitors are encouraged to explore the tranquil and interesting garden areas that Kate is developing.

Please bring chairs and wear shoes suitable for walking around the garden.

As this is the AGM members are encouraged to attend and guests are welcome.
