Greytown hip-hop star launches first album

2016-05-18 06:00

HE is ready to make his mark in the world of music - hip-hop artist Samuelo Ximba of Greytown has overcome many odds to reach his dream - the launch of his first hip- hop album, 365 Days. Its happening right here in Greytown on 28 May in the town hall from 10am to 6pm.

Growing up with four sisters, four brothers, a mother and no father – Sam told the Greytown Gazette that his mother is both parents to the family. She sold fast food at the taxi rank to make sure the family was cared for. He was 13 when she died and his 20-year-old sister took over the role of breadwinner to support the family.

A member of the school choir, Sam soon became known for his music and singing. He found his anger at life, at not having a father and losing his mother, disappeared as his hip-hop skills brought him peace. The turning point for him came during a life orientation oral at Buhlebuyeza High School when he sang about his past. His teacher gave him 100% and told him: “This is your dream.”

Sam is positive his dream of being successful in the music industry will come true. He is totally committed to being professional and focused on his career. He has invited local artists, deejays dancers, models and the public to come along and put Greytown on the map with him.
