Greytown Racing Pigeon Club news

2016-06-01 06:00

WELL here we are again into the new season and the Naicker Bros pick up where they left off last year by winning the first race from Paul Roux - a distance of 272km. Not satisfied with just winning they also snatched the next four positions.

Liberated at 8am in fine weather, their first arrival was clocked at 11.43 to record a velocity of 1221.208 metres per minute. They followed this up clocking fifth bird at 12.09.

The Old Grizzle filled sixth, eighth and ninth places and is hoping for better results in future races. Newcomer Chris Uys was the “meat” in the Old Grizzle’s sandwich coming in seventh in a time 1081.342.

Flying from Old Grizzle’s loft there was much excitement when two pigeons arrived together. I have never witnessed such nervous tension by a fancier while waiting a pigeon’s arrival. Don’t worry Chris it gets better with time Unfortunately, Attie Joubert is back in hospital, but recovering and we are hoping he will be able to fly in the yearling races in five week’s time - get better soon Attie - we miss you.

Results: Naicker Bros 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 10, 11, 12, 1221,280, 1220.368, 1179.686, 1155.671, 1092.136, 677.342, 790.660, 628.915.
