Greytown Racing Pigeon Club news

2016-07-13 06:00

LAST week there was no report as we did not participate in the race from Kimberley because we were not prepared to lose our pigeons in the bad weather.

This week we sent birds to Paul Roux, 272kms for a yearling race, and I don’t think its necessary to tell you who the winners were.

Not only do we have to contend with the Naicker Bros, but nephew Romy, flying as R.D. Lofts, has now entered the fray in the yearling races.

Even though the weather seemed perfect for racing, the results were not very gratifying and I understand that the PMBG fanciers suffered fairly heavy losses.

Back to our race and the results - liberated at 8am the brothers recorded two birds at midday giving velocities of 1184,460 and 1133.516 meters per minute.
An hour later, at 1pm, R.D. Lofts pigeon put in an appearance to record velocity of 907,184 mpm, followed by the brothers, nephew and brothers again to fill the only six positions.

Old Grizzle’s bird arrived at about 8pm, while those of Chris Uys still have to put in an appearance, better luck next time.
Next week’s race is from Douglas.

Results: Naicker Bros: 1, 2, 4, 6, 1134.460, 1133.516, 762.819, 540.818

RD Lofts: 3, 5, 9097.184, 546.981

Good flying.
