Greytown Racing Pigeon Club results

DOUGLAS was our race point last
weekend and what a race it turned out to be.
After a 7.30am liberation we sat the whole of Saturday afternoon waiting in vain as the first arrival only arrived home to the Naicker Bros at 9.11am on Sunday to record a winning velocity of 786.754 for the distance of 666kms.

They also clocked second, third, fourth, sixth and seventh at 10.25,10.48, 11.23, 11.58 and 12.03 to have six birds clocked from 10 sent.

Old Grizzle filled the fifth position at 11.48 to give him 50% returns. Chris Uys had 100% returns when he clocked at 14.13.

The weather has not been kind to the birds this season so far and we can only hope that a good rain would turn things around, but that does not seem to be in the offing anytime soon.

It is now breeding season so here's hoping these youngsters will fly better next year, better than their forbears are doing right now.

Next week is a 345km yearling race from Winburg.

Douglas results: Naicker Bros: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 786.754, 747.645/783.719, 702,465, 677.042, 673.690.

T.R. Tatham: 5th: 684.074, Chris Uys: 8th: 594.955

Good flying.
