IT was a very active weekend for the Greytown running community.

Following on the Firebreak Fun Five night series, four Greytown runners; Murray Mason, Juanita Mason, Isla Still, and Thobani Dlaldla; headed up to Run the Berg trail run in the central berg — a two day mountain trail run based at All Out Adventures.

Thobani Dladla placed fourth in the challenge event and Isla Still placed third for the ladies in the Xtreme event — a great weekend for all four entrants.

On Saturday morning, a trail run was held in conjunction with the Tarr Roses open weekend. It had a superb turnout with just on 90 runners taking part in the event. A beautiful route was set by Andrew Mason and Dawie Pieterse and the champagne en route was thoroughly enjoyed by all participants.

On Sunday, we joined the new Greytown Athletic Club at the community hall for their first 5 km and 10 km fun run — a very well marked and organised road run — and the future for road running in Greytown is certainly promising.
