Gruesome murders at Mambulu

2018-06-20 06:01

ON Tuesday morning, June 12, the Kranskop SAPS received a report from the local Induna of the Mambulu area that two people had gone missing the previous day.

The Induna reported that a delegation had arrived at his home bringing with them a shoe covered in blood stains and allegations of a missing Isuzu vehicle belonging to the people who had disappeared.

An investigating unit from the Kranskop SAPS was dispatched to the Induna’s residence where they were informed by members of the community of the direction in which the missing Isuzu van had travelled.

During the ensuing search the vehicle was discovered abandoned in a thick bush near the road.

Members of the SAPS and the community followed blood stains leading from the vehicle into the bush where two graves, 500 metres apart, were discovered.

Upon exhumation it was discovered that the two bodies had been severely assaulted and burned before a hasty burial.

At the time of going to print, neither the motive for these gruesome murders nor the identities of the two victims were known.

It is alleged that the deceased are two foreign nationals between the ages of 18 and 35 years of age who were hawkers in the area.

The Kranskop SAPS request the community’s assistance in bringing the perpetrators of this heinous crime to book and condemned the murders.

Anyone who has any information on the murders is to please contact Captain Khumalo on 082 411 6589 or Captain Myaka on 072 775 0378.
