HOW many schools have their own, nationally accredited museum?
Last week Grade 4 pupils visited our Mission House Museum after learning about the local history in social sciences lessons.
A big thank you to Ms Petra Reibeling for showing them around and telling them all about the missionaries and how Hermannsburg came to be here in South Africa.
It was fascinating to see the old household and other tools and objects that were so important in the past, but aren’t often found in modern homes, workshops and businesses. Some pupils would have loved to have taken some of them for their own home.

The primary school has been collecting canned food and other food items for the Umvoti Aids Centre, to help their feeding scheme.
The canned food and some clothes will soon be presented to them, and we hope this will fill some hungry tummies and keep them warm.
This is just one of our outreach activities - for many years our school has supported the Jehova Ngihlenge Crêche in Ntunjambili, run by retired nurse Mrs Margaret Sithole.
Mrs Sithole was invited to visit a partner school in Germany, and is currently there with Mrs Stella Cockburn, outreach projects co-ordinator acting as interpreter.
The first port of call will be the Lobetal School in Celle, where Hermannsburg Old Pupil Peter Schulze will be hosting the two South African visitors.
Some may also remember Willing Schulze, his father, who was the principal of our school in the 1960s.
From Celle, the two will continue to Hermannsburg, Germany, Cologne and Hamburg before travelling back to chilly-sunny South Africa. We look forward to hearing all about their experiences when they return.

We wish our pupils, parents and teachers a blessed and restful winter holiday, having seen them off in true Hermannsburg tradition with a final devotion and handshake last Friday.
