A WEEK of workshops and practicing brought over 120 choristers from all corners of our country together. The concert at the Lutheran church in Greytown on Saturday and the church service at Hermannsburg on Sunday were well worth attending as the annual Schützwoche (originally instituted in the 1960s to celebrate the famous 17th century German composer, Heinrich Schütz) came to its close this year. Our Grade 9 class raised funds for their trip to Germany next year by preparing the meals for the participants.

Two raffles also made up part of this year’s drive to raise funds for the Germany Exchange Programme, with tickets being sold during the run-up to the 160th Jubilee Schulfest. The first raffle was won by K. Bartels (Greytown), who took delivery of a new Venter trailer. The runner-up prize of two jackets, sponsored by Mascor, was won by D. Corbishley (Greytown). The second raffle, for a weekend away at Springbok Lodge, was won by S. Hechter (Greytown) and the R500 runner-up cash voucher went to P. Bunge (Pietermaritzburg).

Thank you to our generous sponsors and to everybody who supported this fund-raising drive by buying tickets.
