ON Sunday this year’s confirmands were presented to the Hermannsburg congregation, having spent the previous week at the Harburg Retreat Centre on their confirmands’ camp.

They deepened their understanding of their faith and scripture, learning about God and the Ten Commandments, and putting together the presentation for the Sunday service.

In-between their studies they had time for games, and visited a sugar-cane farm. We look forward to the confirmation service, which will be held in Hermannsburg on Sunday, October 29.

Our U13 cricketers batted first against Greytown Junior School, making 65 runs all out in 20 overs (Benjamin Rabe scoring the most runs).

Greytown replied with 55 runs all out in 15 overs (Benjamin Rabe 4 for 3).

This week, Grade 6 and 9 pupils will be writing the International Bench-marking Tests (IBT), administered by the Independent Examinations Board (IEB), testing their numeracy and literacy.

It is important for our school to measure itself against international standards, to ensure the work we do is of the correct standard.

Our school has consistently scored highly in the IBT’s with a number of pupils receiving recognition for their outstanding level,

We wish the pupils another successful IBT experience in 2017.
