LAST week, our U11 cricketers played against New Hanover. New Hanover batted first, making 133 for 8 after 20 overs (James Waller 3 for 19).

Hermannsburg replied with 134 for 1 after 16 overs (Julian Königkrämer 94 no). Hermannsburg won by 10 wickets. Julian Königkrämer also took part in an athletics league meeting in Richards Bay, where he achieved first place in long jump with a personal best, second place in 70m hurdles and the 80m race, and placed third in the 100m race.

He will compete again this weekend at the KZN championships, and we look forward to the results.

Last Sunday five pupils were confirmed in the Peter-Paul Church at Hermannsburg. We congratulate them and their parents on this open commitment to their faith.

Thanks go to Pastor Risch and the congregation for making this a special day for the confirmands and their families.

Today November 1, our school will celebrate Reformation Day with a divine service on the school grounds.

This year we celebrate the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, started by Martin Luther when he pinned his 95 theses on a church door, challenging the Catholic Church of the day.

The service will be followed by a collection in aid of youth cancer research, organised by Mrs Waller.

Our pupils will go into their mid-term break looking cheerful and colourful, expressing their support for cancer research by having their hair coloured at school.

We wish everyone safe travels and a peaceful and relaxed mid-term break.

We wish the Grade 10s and 11s sound memory and clear heads for their November examinations, which start next week.
