OUR U15 cricketers enjoyed a close-run opening match of the season, scoring 123 for seven off 20 overs (Benjamin Rabe 37, Nkosinathi 29, Andani 24).

Greytown High School’s team scored 115 for six (Benjamin Rabe 3/23, Neo Blackburn 1/10) in their 20 overs.

Hermannsburg won the match by eight runs and both teams are commended for the good sportsmanship and team spirit displayed during the match.

In the 1st XI match, Hermannsburg batted first, making 98 runs in 23 overs (Jonathan Königkrämer 14).

Greytown passed their total after 18 overs for the loss of six wickets to win the match by five wickets.

In tennis news, our boys’ team played Michaelhouse, with Michaelhouse winning the contest.

The girls’ team played St Anne’s, but the match was rained out.

It was mud and weeds everywhere as the high school got stuck into preparing the school dam for this weekend’s aQuellé Hermannsburg Mudman on February 3. If you haven’t entered yet, there’s still time.

There’s an event for every age group and ability. We look forward to seeing families enjoying good, clean fun in fresh country air. Entries:www.roag.co.za or www.hermannsburg.co.za/mudman.
