DURING the past week, the boys’ tennis team played against Hoërskool Voortrekker in the Denness Tennis League.

Dieter Volker and Ivan Mohlala both won their singles matches 7-0, while Philsande Zuma and Ayabonga Dlamini ended 1-6 and 4-3 respectively.

In the doubles matches, Dieter and Philsande narrowly lost 3-4 and Ivan and Ayabonga won 5-2. The team thus won 12-6 when the overall scores were tallied.

Our girls’ team played against St John’s DSG, losing 4-2.

Our primary school cricket team played against Wartburg, who batted first to set a target of 61 runs in their allotted 20 overs, losing 8 wickets (Sithenkosi Ngidi bowling well for Hermannsburg).

Hermannsburg

replied with 62 for 7 after 16 overs to win the match by 3 wickets.

We look forward to our “R ’n B” Inter-house swimming gala on Friday, where Reedbuck and Bushbuck will take each other on in our pool.

The pupils are building spirit this week, adopting a variety of house-coloured dress items, a different one each day, with the houses vying to outdo each other.
May the best house win!
